Vinous Ian d'Agata - 01 Jan 19
Luminous golden yellow. Remarkably concentrated and perfumed nose of crystallized papaya, fresh mango, cinnamon, peach and marmalady botrytis. Enters dense and sweet, the luscious flavors of peach and mango lifted by lemony acidity. Finishes long and very bright, with a rising element of bitter orange marmalade. Boasts 128 g/L r.s. and harmonious acidity; the grapes were mostly passerillé as there was less noble rot than usual in 2016. This is the first SGN Humbrecht has made since 2011. My score is an average between the nose (99) and the palate (95). (375 ml.)
